Espresso and tonic water has been taking the summer streets of New York City and London by storm. While we at Edible remain forever true to the G&T, the E&T has a few advantages:
- Drinking it before noon doesn’t make you a degenerate.
- You can have two or three and still safely drive home (although you might be bouncing around in the car).
- Pregnant friends and teetotallers can partake.
To make one, simply fill a tall glass with ice and pour in your favourite tonic water. Add a shot of espresso poured over a metal spoon (to absorb the heat). Do not stir.
Garnish with a slice of lemon or curl of orange rind to complement the flavour profile of the coffee beans and tonic you’ve chosen.
